The Corporation for National and Community Service runs many large-scale programs, including Americorps, Senior Corps, Social Innovation Fund, and Americorps VISTA.  Grantees in these programs are required to conduct background Criminal History Checks on staff and volunteers, in order to ensure that people touched by the programs, particularly the most vulnerable, are kept safe.  Along with its long-time partner Abt Associates, Illumina developed an elearning module to train grantees, covering the requirements for Criminal History Checks, and the processes to follow to complete the checks.  The elearning module included information on custom software tools developed for CNCS, and also on accessing and using public websites, like the National Sex Offender Public Website.
