Illumina partnered with Education Development Center to develop and pilot a Blackboard-based blended learning course entitled “Ethics Consultation: Beyond the Basics” for the Veterans Administration and National Center for Ethics in Healthcare. The course is designed for a variety of individuals providing ethics consultations, including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, psychologists and health administrators. As part of the pilot project, Illumina produced an interactive, self-paced asynchronous learning activity, developed in Articulate Storyline, plus a synchronous group activity delivered using Blackboard Collaborate that involved whiteboard tools as well as small group breakout sessions with role playing activities. Illumina created comprehensive automated Session Plan materials to assist facilitators using Blackboard Collaborate.
